AIDA | ROADSHOW brings together all experimental projects involving autonomous vehicles on public roads, aiming to test algorithms across a wide variety of scenarios and road environments. Beyond the technical challenge, the project also stands out for its value in scientific outreach, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge about autonomous driving and its potential.
1000 Miglia Autonomous Drive
The goal of 1000 Miglia Autonomous Drive is to test autonomous driving technology in different Italian road scenarios, traveling the route of the historic 1000 Miglia competition, which runs from Brescia to Rome and back.

The AIDA team participated in the 2023 edition of the 1000 Miglia with the Maserati MC20 Cielo.
RESULTS:
- Over 60 km traveled in autonomous driving mode in the towns of BRESCIA, BERGAMO, MILAN, PARMA, MODENA, and FERRARA.
- The collection of data along the entire route to assess the robustness and reliability of the system.

In 2024, the AIDA team enhanced the algorithms and participated in the event with the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore, an electric-powered vehicle.
RESULTS:
- Obtaining authorization for autonomous driving testing of over 1000 km from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
- Over 300 km traveled in autonomous driving mode.

For the third year in a row, AIDA takes part in the 1000 Miglia, joining the 1000 Miglia Green with a fleet of autonomous electric vehicles. 1000 Miglia Experience
FLORIDA
After its successful participation in the 2023 edition of the legendary 1000 Miglia race, the Maserati MC20 Cielo with autonomous driving technology, developed by Politecnico di Milano, flew across the ocean to join the “1000 Miglia Experience Florida”.
This vehicle showcases the excellence of the university’s research on autonomous driving on the roads of the United States. The presence of the Maserati MC20 Cielo in this event represents not only a connection between the past and the future but also highlights the evolution of mobility, introducing Italian engineering to new international arenas.

In April 2025, AIDA moved to Southern Italy to conduct extensive testing on autonomous driving, accompanied by a series of events across the Campania region. A highlight of this initiative is AIDA’s participation in the “1000 Miglia Experience Italy”, a spin-off of the legendary 1000 Miglia. The event will unfold along the scenic roads of Southern Italy, including the stunning Amalfi Coast. The route—featuring the AIDA team as a key player—will begin in Sorrento and conclude in the captivating city of Matera.

Carrera Panamericana
From October 9 to 16, 2025, AIDA participated in the legendary La Carrera Panamericana, one of the world’s most iconic motorsport events. For the first time, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore took part in the race, in collaboration with the Tecnológico de Monterrey School of Engineering and Sciences and the Bloom Drive Intelligence research group, bringing advanced autonomous driving technology to an international and challenging environment.
During the event, interactive activities allowed the public to engage with the concept of future mobility, while meetings with prominent figures from the region offered opportunities to discuss innovation and sustainable transportation.
The AIDA vehicle completed stages across Mexico, including Mexico City, Querétaro, Morelia, San Luis Potosí, and Zacatecas, navigating challenging roads and diverse urban landscapes. The participation demonstrated how autonomous technology can transform the vision of mobility into reality, combining research, innovation, and cutting-edge engineering.
This experience highlighted the global reach of AIDA’s autonomous driving technology, demonstrating how the project brings its expertise and innovation to real-world roads around the world. Collaboration with Tecnológico de Monterrey further strengthened the project’s international dimension and outreach.
